Welcome to the Redevelopment Website

The Joint Project Area & the Eden Project Area are adjacent redevelopment project areas located in the unincorporated area of Alameda County. The project areas are located near the 238, 580 & 880 freeway interchanges and cover 4,000 acres that run through portions of the Castro Valley, Cherryland, Ashland, Foothill, San Lorenzo and Mt Eden communities.

Although the overall goals for redevelopment throughout the project area are to alleviate blight and provide stimulus for economic revitalization, individual goals and objectives have been set to meet the needs and priorities of each of these distinct communities. Please refer to the Project Areas section of the Overview tab for a summary of priority focus, featured projects, and a map for each sub-area.
