Introduction

The Disability Programs Division is a comprehensive and countywide centralized disability management program, which provides professional consultation and technical support to County agencies and departments. In the development and administration of the County's disability management programs, we collaborate with stakeholders to develop strategies to overcome identified barriers. We continue to increase awareness and understanding of federal and state disability and family medical leaves, laws, and provisions through the design and implementation of countywide disability management training.

In partnership with county agencies and departments, we are committed to integrate employees with disabilities and medical conditions into a highly productive workforce environment.

The Disability Programs Division strives to:

• enhance the County's disability management programs
• ensure disability related policies, procedures and practices are consistent and in compliance with federal and state disability and family medical leaves, laws and provisions
• provide equal employment opportunities for all applicants with disabilities, and ensure disabled employees' rights and benefits.

Our program initiatives are developed in alignment with the mission, visions and values of the Human Resource Services Department, as well as the County's mission to provide accessible, responsive and effective services.
