New Commission Chair and Vice Chair
At their May 11, 2017 regular meeting the Commission appointed Commissioner Ayn Wieskamp to serve as LAFCo Chair and Commissioner Scott Haggerty as Vice Chair through May 2019.
Eden Township Healthcare District Special Study
The special study of the Eden Township Healthcare District was accepted by LAFCo on April 11, 2017. To view the final report, click here (PDF).
LAFCo is a state mandated local agency that oversees boundary changes to cities and special districts, the formation of new agencies including incorporation of new cities, and the consolidation of existing agencies.
The broad goals of the agency are to ensure the orderly formation of local government agencies, to preserve agricultural and open space lands, and to discourage urban sprawl.
