Application

The County of Alameda invites juniors and seniors of Alameda County schools to apply to Youth Leadership 2011-12, a free, five-session course about County programs and services. Each 3-hour Saturday morning session provides an opportunity to meet County officials and staff, learn about the County and develop leadership skills.

We will discuss what it takes to be an active participant in your community and local government and focus on the role of local government in providing needed services to the diverse communities of Alameda County.

Applications must be received Friday, September 23, 2011. Please mail the completed application to: Alameda County Youth Leadership, County Administrator's Office, 1221 Oak Street, Suite 555, Oakland, CA 94612. 35 students will be selected based on when the application is received and, to ensure countywide representation, by supervisorial district, city and school.

All sessions are Saturday mornings from 9 am - noon at Alameda County facilities throughout Alameda County:
